Adidas confuses Manchester United players – DER SPIEGEL

When presenting the new Manchester United soccer jerseys, the supplier Adidas committed a faux pas. The company mistook player Millie Turner for her teammate Amy Turner, who has since moved to Orlando Pride in the USA.

Millie Turner posted screenshots of the jersey advertising campaign on Twitter with Amy Turner’s name next to a photo of her. “When you consider that I’ve been with Manchester United for three years and an Adidas athlete for two years, you might think that Adidas got my name,” wrote the 25-year-old.

The sporting goods manufacturer apologized under her tweet. “Millie, we screwed this up and we’re angry,” commented Adidas UK. “You’re part of the Adidas family and we want to make amends.”

They wanted to give some of their biggest fans the new jersey, it said. “Tell us who and we’ll deliver.” Amy Turner had also commented on the mix-up. “We have to improve there,” she wrote.
