What the Coronavirus testing system returned

Major League Baseball (MLB) y la Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) jointly announced this Friday the latest results of the COVID-19 tests carried out under the Health Testing and Control Plan COVID-19 of MLB. The Utah independent laboratory has reported the following results in the past week:

Weekly follow-up test:

• 9,104 tests carried out, with 1 new positive test (one player); a positive rate of 0.01%.

Total follow-up tests to date:

• 203,523 tests carried out, with a total of 66 positive tests (37 players and 29 staff members); a positive rate of 0.03%. Twenty-five (25) different clubs have had a positive covered individual test during the Screening Test.

Additionally, MLB and MLBPA announced today that 22 clubs have reached the threshold of 85% or more of their Level 1 individuals who are considered fully vaccinated, which (in consultation with medical experts) will allow for additional health protocol modifications to be applied. and security to their Level 1 Individuals.

These protocol changes may also apply to Tier 2 individuals, at the discretion of each club, once 85% or more of the club’s Tier 1 and 2 individuals are deemed fully vaccinated.

To date, 86.5% of all Level 1 and 2 individuals have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 85.3% of all Level 1 and 2 individuals are considered fully vaccinated.
