The decision will be made by the public. In a press release dated June 11, the Committee Paralympique et Sportif Français invites French citizens to vote online to designate the two athletes (a woman, a man) who will represent France at the opening ceremony of the Games on August 24 in Tokyo. Seven of these athletes are vying for the prestigious role of flag bearer, so “to make your country shine, and instill a feeling of team” explain the athletes in a video published by the Committee.

The vote is open since this Friday and Internet users therefore have until June 30 to designate the pair of athletes. Are in the running: Perle Bouge (para rowing), Souhad Ghazouani (para weightlifting), Nantenin Keita (para athletics), Sandrine Martinet (para judo), Pierre Fairbank (para athletics), Stéphane Houdet (wheelchair tennis), David Smetanine (para swimming).
