These are the winners of the Social Council of the UMH of Elche

The event will be attended, among others personalities from different fields, the president of the Social Council, Joaquín Pérez Vázquez; the rector of the UMH, Juan José Ruiz Martínez; the Minister for Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, Carolina Pascual Villalobos; and the mayor of Elche, Carlos González.

The Social Council will present the Social Relevance award to Alejandro Roemmers Colman, “for his tireless help to those who need it most”. In the category of Companies and Institutions, the award will go to the company Planeta Huerto, “for its firm commitment to sustainable development and care for the environment.” For his part, the professor and vice-rector for Inclusion, Sustainability and Sports, Raúl Reina Vaillo, has received the Research and Transfer award, “for his research work in the area of ​​physical activity and adapted sports.” The UMH Social Council awards also recognize the perseverance and talent of the student body and, in this sense, the Students award will go to Mirella Macías Fernández and Marina Giménez Berenguer.

In the Teaching Excellence modality, the awards will go to the professor of the Automation and Systems Engineering Area of ​​the Luis Payá University and to the professor of the Department of Clinical Medicine of the UMH Vicente Gil. For its part, the Innovation Actions in Management award, which rrecognize those innovative ideas and initiatives developed by services, offices and administrative units of the UMH, will fall to the Innovation and Technological Planning Service and the Information Infrastructure Service.

Regarding the Non-profit entity modality, the UMH Social Council will reward the Remavida Association, which aims to use the sport of rowing to raise public awareness and support women diagnosed with breast cancer. For its part, the award for College Athlete It will be for badminton player and medical graduate Laura Samaniego. Likewise, the spin off 3D Surgical Technologies will obtain the award for a Technology-Based and Innovative Company, “for its work in designing gynecological surgery in which it combines innovation and design to improve the quality of life of women.” Finally, in the Commitment to equality, inclusion and sustainability modality, the Social Council of the UMH will recognize the honorary president of the Pikolinos Group, Juan Perán, “for being one of the people who best represents the commitment to society, to the city ​​and with the university community.
