The Soria-CS24 Badminton Club gets eight medals in Vitoria

The Soria-CS24 Badminton Club and the AD89 played one of the last tests of this half of the season on Saturday. Specifically, it was a test of the Alava Federation and that was developed in the Aranalde pavilion of the Vitorian capital.

The representatives of both clubs had a fantastic tournament with four wins and another six medals achieved in all categories.

In the youth categories, the most outstanding result occurred in the sub19 category, where the two women from the Soria club won the medals quota. Both Nora Martínez and Ana Peñaranda, still last in the U17 category, were planted in the final, ensuring the victory for the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club. Nora’s greatest experience turned the final in her favor. Both completed their sensational performance with an undeniable triumph in women’s doubles.

This competition was proposed by Nora Martínez as a preparatory test for the Spanish Under-19 Championship that will begin next Friday and whose result will reinforce her game for such an important event.

In the sub15 category, the men’s double formed by Jorge Ayllón and Adrian Diez, got a new medal for the season, in this case bronze. The couple formed at the beginning of the season is already among the fifteen best national couples.

The rest of the medals were obtained by the senior players, with the conquest of the other two triumphs.

The Burgese Esther Pereira, a great doubles specialist, won a double in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Esther won the gold in the women’s with Jennifer Fernández from Palencia while she obtained the runner-up in the mixed double with Jorge Velázquez from Valladolid.

The male seniors also fully complied in the Basque event. The more than reliable pair of men’s double formed by Manuel Acero and Santiago Martínez rose with a new triumph so far this season. Both, also in the individual modality, were made with medals, Santiago obtaining the silver medal and Manuel the bronze.

Finally, José Carlos Pérez, in his category, increased the medal harvest with the individual silver medal, yielding only in the final in a match that had to be extended to a third set.
