The Netherlands want to “continue on this positive basis”

Netherlands coach Frank de Boer will change “almost nothing” in his starting XI to face North Macedonia on Monday. This is what he said at a press conference in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Denzel Dumfries and Memphis Depay scored against Austria.

After two successes against Ukraine (3-2) and Austria (2-0), the Netherlands are already guaranteed to play the round of 16 of the Euro.

Frank de Boer intends to “continue on this positive basis” without changing its composition in depth while announcing “to make two changes” compared to the last game.

One of those changes is likely to concern midfielder Marten de Roon who is threatened with suspension if he receives another yellow card.

De Boer also did not rule out changing the system to go from the 5-3-2 he has used since the start of the tournament to return to the traditional 4-3-3 of the Netherlands. “I haven’t changed my mind about my system. But depending on how the match unfolds, why not, ”he said.
