Tennis.-Wimbledon will detail the allowed capacity and security protocols at the All England Club on Wednesday

LONDON, 14 (dpa / EP)

The organization of Wimbledon, the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the season that was not played last year and whose next edition will start in two weeks, will announce next Wednesday the maximum capacity that it will have in the stands and the security protocols that must be followed at the All England Club (AELTC).

The English tournament had hoped to be able to significantly increase capacity from the 25 percent that had been planned for several months, but the expected delay in further easing of restrictions in the UK has put that into question.

The English press has speculated that Wimbledon could follow the example of the football matches that Wembley will host at the European Championship, with a maximum capacity of up to 50 percent allowed through the use of passports and Covid tests, but there is nothing certain for the moment.
