sur-Saône | Judo in college is possible with the UNSS section of the Pasteur College in Saint Rémy. Info Chalon news from Info Chalon

The Sports section of the National Union of School Sports (UNSS) for mixed judo at the Louis Pasteur college in Saint Rémy is the only judo sports section in the department.

The Louis Pasteur college of Saint Rémy, in partnership with the departmental judo committee of Saône et Loire, offers the possibility to young students practicing judo in a club to join the UNSS judo sports section while following the same education as the other students. Upon entry into 6th, the selection is made on file, various criteria are requested in order to access the judo section.

The student will have to present a good sporting level but also a good academic record and a good state of mind. He will have to pass sports tests as well as an interview accompanied by his parents. The selection is made in consultation between the teachers of general subjects and the PE teacher of the judo section. Judo, like all sports, requires a lot of training and it must not be to the detriment of school results and vice versa. This course can allow you to go further in high-level sport and it is a chance to have an inclusive school like the Louis Pasteur college.

Students selected in the sports section must be licensed in a judo club affiliated to the FFJDA of their choice. Indeed, it should be noted that the students remain licensed in their home club. They must take the UNSS license which is compulsory to be able to participate in the various school competitions. Judo training and lessons will take place at the St Rémy dojo located behind the college.

The 2020/2021 season has been deprived of all competitions and meetings, it is a rather special year with this pandemic. However the competitions are a very good way to make known the section UNSS judo of the College Pasteur and to attract young people. The staff of the UNSS Judo section of the Pasteur College of Saint Rémy was 3 girls and 7 boys in 2020/2021 and this staff will be expanded by 2 girls and 4 boys at the start of the 2021/2022 school year. Priority is given to the San Rémois but, by way of derogation, it is open to all students who have the level to integrate the sports section of the college. The important thing is to bring in students in 6th who will be in the section for 4 years.

After the 4 years of college some will perhaps continue and why not, reach the level of their teacher Medhi Lathene champion of France UNSS and champion of France university 1time senior division or succeed in the championship like Maëva Huguenin 14 years old who is champion Bourgogne Franche Comté and who will go to the championship of France 2022.

Having a sports section in his establishment gives some headaches to Mr. Bonnefoy, the principal of the college, to establish the timetables for the classes. The judokas are distributed from the 6th to the 3th but train together, so you have to free 4 classes at the same time. The section is young and already has promising athletes who will be emulated, enough to fully satisfy Mr. Bonnefoy and Medhi Lathene.
