Miyagi Prefecture Takano Ren has decided to hold the National High School Baseball Championship Miyagi Tournament, which starts on July 7, with spectators from the first round after setting an upper limit for each venue.
The maximum number of general guests and parents is 3000 at Sendai City Baseball Field and Ishinomaki City Baseball Field. Approximately 30% of the capacity of each venue, including school staff and members, will be within 50%.
In order to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, the spring prefectural tournament in May was basically unattended until the second round. At the press conference, Kaji Matsumoto, chairman of the Prefectural High School Baseball Federation, said that the reason for including spectators from the first round was “because we have not sent out infected people in the past tournaments and the infection control manners have improved.”
The tournament will be a tournament with 66 teams from 71 participating schools, and the final will be held at Ishinomaki City Baseball Stadium on the 23rd. The combination lottery will be held on the 25th of this month.
