Sports venues will open in Guadeloupe

GUADALUPE. Starting next Monday, in the municipality of Guadalupe, the Hagamos Historia medium and high-performance gym, the athletics track, the Olympic pool and some other areas of the sports unit will return to activity.

After more than a year since the sports spaces remained disabled due to the global health contingency due to the coronavirus, health authorities, including the Federal Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), placed the entity in green in the epidemiological traffic light.

This situation will allow the Guadalupe City Council, through the Municipal Sports Institute, to reopen the Guadalupe Olympic pool (it will begin with registration records for the general public), the athletics track, fields 1 and 2 of soccer, as well as the archery field, the latter three located in the Sports Unit.

Likewise, the mixed martial arts gyms will be active, located in the Tierra y Libertad and Ojo de Agua de la Palma colonies, areas in which sport has been fundamental for the prevention of crime and the eradication of sedentary lifestyles.

For the moment, the open and closed spaces where team sports are practiced, such as the Luis Moya auditoriums and that of the municipal presidency itself, will only be used by representative Guadeloupean teams in official competitions, whether university, professional and semi-professional.

After Guadeloupean athletes requested the reopening of the fields, tracks and gyms, the mayor of Guadalupe, César González Navarro, made the commitment to provide everything necessary so that as soon as the authorities allowed it, the training and competitions would be resumed as determined by the sanitary protocols.

He also explained that, regarding the leagues of the different disciplines, such as soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball, etc., in order to be active, they must comply with the protocols requested by Cofepris, since, he said, the procedures for the permits for sports spaces are different than those for organized competitions.

For his part, Cruz Moreno, director of the Municipal Sports Institute, mentioned that Zacatecan athletes who intend to resume their training towards a sports event must comply with the requirements required by the Commission, such as: personal name, discipline, endorsement of the federation or association, depending on the sport. Also the proof of the Climms Course “Safe Return Physical Activity”, signature of a responsive letter, filling out the TRIAGE format (weekly), call for the competition to participate and the time and place of training.

Finally, González Navarro endorsed the unconditional support for the sport of Guadalupe and recognized the achievements of those who exalt the name of the municipality with medals and championships.
