Serge Ibaka will not play again this season

Serge Ibaka will not wear shorts again this year. The Los Angeles Clippers center has undergone back surgery and says goodbye to the remainder of the playoffs, according to journalist Shams Charania.

The player has been away from the league courts since March 14. Then a low back injury put him out of rotation indefinitely. Since then, information from the franchise has reached dropper.

Coach Tyronn Lue declared on several occasions that they had no set date for his return despite having faced four-on-four training sessions and long rehabilitation sessions. However, his problems do not seem to have diminished and, finally, the surgical option has been opted for.

Thus, the Clippers will have to face, at a minimum, the next two meetings of their series against the Utah Jazz without their main interior reinforcement for this course. For now, the Californians are with a delicate 0-2 against. Ibaka’s averages have risen to 11.1 points and 6.7 rebounds in a total of 41 games.
