Rodez. Archery: the Trauc grounds, targets of very promising young Ruthenians

The leaders of the Rodez archery club, as well as the leaders and the competitors had a smile on Sunday at Le Trauc. It was indeed an ideal weather for a reunion in front of the target, with this adrenaline rush when bending the bows. The organizers were all the more smiling as they were very promising young regional competitors who met in Rodez, on neutral ground.

Eleven teams from different departments of Occitanie, indeed competed in this regional championship dedicated to young people, which took place on the grounds of Trauc. Two categories of the regional youth division Occitanie were in contention: the youngest and junior.

“A normal champion is usually made of several rounds, but because of the Covid-19, we only do one round”, explains Romain Rey, vice-president of the Rodez club. After the morning qualifiers, the teams faced off to determine a ranking. In cadets-juniors, seven teams were in contention. After the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, the Montpellier club won easily. It must be said that this club has in its ranks sure values ​​which are part of the France pole, with archers qualified for the “young” world championship.

In youngest, it is still the Héraultais who made the difference, the club of Lattes ahead of that of Maduel, in the Gard.

Benjamins-minimes: 1. Lattes (Hérault), 2. Manduel (Gard), 3. Montpellier (Hérault), 4. Frontignan (Hérault).
