Cavendish was visibly emotional. “I love him,” he said of Jakobsen. “That he can smile again, now that he has his teeth again… He’s such a good boy. He should be here. After all he’s been through, we can win for him here.”
“He will be here next year, you will see. Then he will write his own history in the Tour. I really believe in that. He has a fire in him and he inspires me. This message means a lot to me.”
