Not Jadon Sancho, Manchester United Secures First Transfer Of The Summer

This new United recruit is a player who has played for the Red Devils and plays as a goalkeeper.

Manchester United have secured their first signing of the summer and it won’t be Jadon Sancho, as renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms Tom Heaton’s return to Old Trafford.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously expressed his intention to strengthen his squad by bringing in two or three new players to challenge for the top spot in the 2021/22 Premier League title.

The name Sancho from Borussia Dortmund has once again been linked with a move to the Manchester Red club, while the transfer is just waiting for an agreement on a price with the owner club after the player agrees on the amount of the contract proposed by United.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier is also in Ole’s target. The Norwegian figure wants additional power in the sector considering that his team only has Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Regarding Trippier, who graduated from Manchester City’s academy, Atletico have set a price of €40 million for the player they signed for only €20 million from Tottenham Hotspur.

As for Romano in his statement at Twitter stated that Heaton had completed his medical with United on Wednesday (16/6) yesterday, and that he would receive a contract until June 2023.

An announcement regarding Heaton’s transfer is likely to be made this week. That way, he will officially return to the arms of the Red Devils, who were defended from 2005 to 2010 ago.

Heaton, 35, was released by Aston Villa at the end of last season after his contract was not renewed and will now become the third goalkeeper after Dean Henderson and David de Gea.

United themselves felt the need to find a new goalkeeper after releasing Sergio Romero who was allowed to leave for free.
