The Bucks, on the other hand, collapse despite Giannis Antetokounmpo (34 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists) almost the triple double.

The Eastern Conference final begins in a spectacular way: in Game-1, a victory immediately arrives that reverses the home factor, and to find it is Atlanta, who wins 116-113 at Milwaukee and immediately puts the head ahead in the series that is worth the victory in the East and access to the Finals. The Hawks win a very balanced match, in which neither team ever really takes off: the Bucks come to have 9 points ahead, won thanks to 40-31 during the second quarter, while Atalanta does not go beyond the momentary + 8 (78-86) at the end of the third period. Game-1 decides, after the balance found in the final minutes, is then the 9-2 run before the siren, with the Hawks going from -4 (111-107) up to 116-113 which concludes the first match of this final: for Milwaukee, who misses the triple of the draw with Middleton, it is the first knockout at home in these playoffs, while for Gallinari and his companions it is the sixth success in eight away matches.

In the match the signature of Trae Young is evident, top scorer with 48 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds, embellished with a 50% shooting (17/34), a 4/13 from the arc and a 10/12 in free. A great performance, accompanied by the double doubles of Collins (23 points and 15 rebounds) and Capela (12 points and 19 rebounds). The best off the bench is Danilo Gallinari, who scores 9 points with 4/9 shooting, with a triple made out of three and zero free taken, while Bogdanovic puts just 4. Milwaukee, on the other hand, loses despite the usual, undeniable leadership of Giannis Antetokounmpo: the Greek stops at an assist from the triple double with 34 points and 12 rebounds, with 0/2 from the arc, a 6/8 in free throws and a 14/25 shot, just like Jrue Holiday, who instead signs a double double with 33 points, 10 assists and 4 rebounds. The real absentee of game-1 is Khris Middleton, who scores just 15 points in 40 and a half minutes with a more than disappointing 6/23 shooting and a terrible 0/9 from the arc. In the night between Friday and Saturday, race-2 will be staged, a step that can already prove to be fundamental in this Eastern Conference final.
