Lorenzo Musetti continued to play his way into the limelight at the French Open.

The 19-year-old Italian defeated his compatriot Marco Cecchinato (ATP 83) with 3: 6.6: 4.6: 3.3: 6.6: 3 and made it to the round of 16 on his Grand Slam debut. He is only the sixth player since 2000 to have achieved this in his first major main competition. Musetti made it into the top 100 for the first time this year with an Acapulco semi-final and will continue to improve from his current best ranking (76).
