Aaron Judge was not in the Yankees’ lineup for the series finale against the Phillies on Sunday due to back spasms, New York manager Aaron Boone reported.
The foreman said Judge felt the spasms Saturday, when “he had a little trouble hitting good swings” and went 1-for-5 with one run scored and three strikeouts in the Bombers’ loss Saturday at Citizens Bank Park.

“He was able to play the game, but this morning he felt some discomfort when he woke up,” Boone explained. “He will continue to receive treatment during the game. We hope it can be an alternative at the end of the game. “
Judge has been the highest-producing Yankees position player this season, leading the team in every offensive line category (.289 / .388 / .532), along with runs (36), hits (63), home runs. (15) and towed (35). Their 61 matches played were the most at the club, before DJ LeMahieu played his 61st match on Sunday.
