Oliver Glasner trains Eintracht Frankfurt in the coming season. Most recently, however, he worked in Wolfsburg – with success. Nevertheless, his former captain has now stepped up powerfully.
Captain Joshua Guilavogui from VfL Wolfsburg has with his former coach Oliver Glasner settled. The qualification for the Champions League was a “huge success”, said the Frenchman in an interview with the “Wolfsburger Nachrichten”: “But personally, I’ve never had such a bad season”. The year was a “catastrophe”, “because my relationship with Oliver Glasner was also very bad”.
“Worst relationship I’ve ever had with a coach”
Guilavogui made 20 appearances in the past Bundesliga season, but the midfielder played many of them – including injuries – as a joker. “But I never had the feeling that I was sitting outside for sporting reasons, but also for personal reasons,” said Guilavogui, who wants to make his future in Wolfsburg dependent on a conversation with the new coach Mark van Bommel.
Glasner was “technically certainly not a bad coach and had success with us,” said Guilavogui: “But I’m still very happy that he is gone because for me personally it was the worst relationship I have ever had with a coach my career. ” The Austrian has now taken over Eintracht Frankfurt.
