Hungary coach calls Ronaldo annoying

Budapest

Hungary coach Marco Rossi has no doubts about the reputation of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. But according to Rossi, Ronaldo’s behavior is not always pleasant.

Rossi brought Hungary to look good at Euro 2020, despite being eliminated in the group phase. The Magyars finished fourth in Group F, aka the hell group, which consisted of tough teams like world champions France, defending champions Euro Portugal, and Germany.

Under Rossi’s tutelage, Hungary suffered a 0-3 defeat to Portugal in the first match before drawing 1-1 with France and Germany 2-2. Despite losing to Portugal, Hungary is frustrating Selection of Quinas before finally ‘collapsed’ after conceding a goal from Raphael Guerreriro in the 84th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo killed the Hungarian resistance by scoring Portugal’s two additional goals in the space of four minutes. After scoring the goal, Ronaldo made his trademark celebration and a number of Hungarian fans raised their middle fingers at him. The Juventus star also received cheers from opposing fans.

“Ronaldo is a great champion, but sometimes he can be annoying,” Marco Rossi told The Gazzetta dello Sport, quoted Mirror.

“After the penalty with us, he celebrated the goal as if he had already scored in the final. People are paying attention to this.”

Marco Rossi believes France will advance the furthest at Euro 2020 among other Hungarian rivals in the group phase. Blues will face Switzerland in the round of 16, Portugal against Belgium, while Germany meet England.

“I think France, they have Mbappe. He can be unstoppable, especially against the strongest teams who tend to be less close,” said Rossi.
