Glasnow disabled for 10 days

Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Tyler Glasnow was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday for a partial tear in his ulnar collateral ligament and a flexor strain.

Glasnow said he experienced a “little jerk” to his right elbow during his team’s win over the White Sox on Monday after throwing a fastball to Andrew Vaughn. He did three more pitches to end the inning. He said he felt “a tug” with each of them. He communicated the problem to pitching coach Kyle Snyder and coach Joe Benge upon his return to the cave.

Glasnow revealed that he didn’t feel much pain and even wondered if he could pitch another inning, considering the fact that he was able to finish the previous inning, but did not return to the mound.

“It was probably better not throwing more,” Glasnow confessed after the game.
