Andrés Madera, Claudimar Garcés and Karen León Qualified for Tokyo 2020 + 1

The Minister of Popular Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, said: “We are very proud to receive our boys. They are 3 classified. Our sensei Andrés Madera has just classified in Karate, being classified number 37 in an official way, together with Claudimar Garcés who is our classified number 36 in Karate and Karen León in Judo ”.

For his part, Claudimar Garcés stated: “Athletes and coaches from other countries classify us as athletes at heart and sometimes competitors with a lot of heart make mistakes because we cannot control our feelings. I tried to calm down, be cold and intelligent and control that little heart that had it a million ”.

Karate fighter Andrés Madera recognized the great effort of his entire team. “It is quite gratifying, karate is for the first time in the Olympics and taking 3 athletes is a good amount.”

Likewise, the judoka Karen León thanked the Ministry of Popular Power for Youth and Sports and the Venezuelan Judo Federation for their support. “We have 40 days of preparation for the games, we will do our best to try to achieve the objectives.”
