Frankfurt/Main. The Frankfurt-based Fraport Skyliners have hired Marco Völler as the club’s sports manager and brand ambassador.

The son of the former national soccer striker Rudi Völler will receive a contract for the next two years, as announced by the Bundesliga basketball team. In addition, Marco Völler will continue to hunt for baskets at the Fraport Skyliners Juniors in the ProB league.

“I am convinced that with his personality and the characteristics that have also distinguished him as a player – will, commitment, passion – he will also fit perfectly into our team in the office and will work his way into the new task with a lot of enthusiasm”, said Gunnar Wöbke, managing company of the association.

“It’s a very important step for me and I’m very happy that I can take it here in Frankfurt,” said Marco Völler. “Since I get a great opportunity, it wasn’t difficult for me to stop playing Bundesliga basketball.” Völler played in the top class for five years and has been with the Skyliners since the 2017/18 season.
