Dirk Nowitzki’s longtime NBA trainer, Rick Carlisle, will work for the Indiana Pacers in the future. The basketball team from Indianapolis did not provide any information about the contract period in the official announcement.
Carlisle had just resigned as head coach of the Dallas Mavericks last week. There he had looked after Nowitzki from 2008 until the end of his career after the 2019 season. Together they had won the only championship for Dallas in 2011.
Carlisle is one of 14 people who managed the feat of winning the NBA championship as a player and coach. With the Boston Celtics he won the golden cup as a professional in 1986. As a head coach, he worked for the Detroit Pistons before his time in Dallas.
