Demaryius Thomas announces his retirement

The former champion hangs up his crampons.

He didn’t play last season at all, and ultimately it will be the end of the road. Demaryius Thomas has announced that he is deciding to retire.

During his ten-year career, Thomas caught 724 passes for 9,763 yards and 63 touchdowns. During the glorious seasons, those associated with the Broncos and Peyton Manning, the receiver was named 5 times Pro Bowler and 2 times Second Team All-Pro. And of course the Broncos clinched the title in 2015.

Selected in the first round by Denver in 2010, Thomas played in Colorado until 2018, before bouncing back to the Texans and then the Patriots to finish with a season with the Jets.

The former receiver confessed that the transition out of football is difficult:

“It seemed to me that the last few years I’ve been trying to find myself,” Thomas told DenverBroncos.com. “Of course stopping football is difficult. It’s hard to leave it all, because the guys are trying to figure out what to do next and it can’t be like football. So I work on myself, and try to find myself. “
