Founding of the judo community in the district of Lingen, later the district of Emsland, by Blau-Weiß Lünne, VfL Handrup and the Lingen judo club. In order to be particularly successful in team competitions, all fighters of the three clubs start for the community (until the end of 1987).
The Nordhorn Judo Club became the German youth team champion – three judoka from Lingen fought in the team:

To date, the Lingen judo club has produced a German individual champion four times and, together with Nordhorn, a German team champion in the A youth team. The association currently has around 120 active and 30 passive members. Including two bearers of the 4th Dan, one bearer of the 3rd Dan, two bearers of the 2nd Dan and four bearers of the 1st Dan.
