British, Games and Ryder: Rahm’s challenges for the rest of 2021

EI major, for many a matter of time, fell at last. Another wall knocked down; the final monster of the game, defeated. It has passed Rahm already the game? The truth is that the majority of golfers would sign the career that he has been only 26 years old, but in the head of the Basque there are still pending accounts, and some can leave it settled this year.

Rahmbo has never hidden his sympathy for him British Open, the major that most closely resembles what he started at Larrabea. Nor is his intention to take advantage of the inclusion of golf in the Games from Rio 2016 to hunt a medal. And these are two of the three great events that remain on the 2021 calendar if we exclude the playoffs of the American and European circuits.

The first, from July 15 to 18, will be the 149th edition of the British at Royal St. George’s, postponed last year due to the pandemic. In his last appearance in the tournament, in 2019, he signed his best performance to date, 11th place. Then, from July 29 to August 1, the men’s Olympic tournament will take place. And Jon, who has the place very easily secured via Olympic ranking, will not go sightseeing at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. “The Tokyo Games are a goal for me. I never thought I would go to some (…) I want to give an Olympic medal to Spain,” he went on to say.

The climax of the season will come with the Ryder Cup from Whistling Straits, Sept. 24-26. Rahm, who was already key for the European team to triumph three years ago in Paris with their victory in the singles against Tiger Woods, has a fixed place in the group that will be led this time by the Irish Padraig Harrington.
