Basketball – basketball: Jovovic and Pantelic new Weißenfels coaching team

Cologne (SID) – Bundesliga basketball team Syntainics MBC Weißenfels is starting the coming season with a new coaching team. As the club announced on Monday, Igor Jovovic will succeed Silvano Poropat as head coach, the 38-year-old will receive a two-year contract. MBC center Djordje Pantelic, who will end his active career, will assist Jovovic and also signed a two-year contract.

Jovovic had made it from ProA to BBL in 2016 with Weißenfels, in the past three seasons he was the head coach of the Polish first division team Stelmet Zielona Gora and the Bundesliga team Telekom Baskets Bonn as well as assistant coach of Bavaria Munich.

Pantelic played as a player for Weißenfels between 2012 and 2015 and between 2016 and 2018. Last season he ended his active career with cooperation partner BSW Sixers in the ProB.
