Adapted Badminton practices in Villa Mercedes

The practices began in the Palacio de los Deportes “José María Gatica”.

he adapted badminton is a sport derived from badminton, practiced by people with physical, visual and intellectual disabilities, which is already practiced at the Palacio de los Deportes “José María Gatica”, located in Colombia 123 of Villa Mercedes.

The person in charge of the Adapted Sports and Older Adults Program, Professor Mariano Santillán, together with Professor Laura Guiñas, are in charge of teaching this sport.

Classes are intended for people with motor disabilities and short stature, without age limits and are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This proposal seeks to achieve full participation, without restrictions, to renew self-confidence, increase motivation, reduce anxiety and improve the quality of life of people with physical disabilities.

In the month of May, the Adapted Sports and Older Adults Program team participated in a training by Professor Jorge Giorgi, in the town of Naschel, to train on the correct development of sports practice, being able to carry it out in different institutions.

Until now, the city of La Punta and Naschel have been working, adding Villa Mercedes to this proposal.
