Adalberto Mondesí hit a two-run homer, Mike Minor pitched six good innings and the Kansas City Royals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-3 on Monday night.
The Royals have won 10 of 16 to get back above .500 after an 11-game losing streak that left them four games behind.

Minor (4-2) allowed two runs and five hits. He struck out seven and gave a passport.
Chad Kuhl (0-2) took the loss after coming off the disabled list. He allowed three runs and six hits in four innings.
For the Royals, Salvador Pérez went 4-1 with an RBI; Edward Olivares 3-1 with a run scored.
