A first circuit for Abraham Toro

Quebecer Abraham Toro, who is trying to convince the Houston Astros to promote him in major league baseball, took a step in this direction, Monday night, by hitting his first homerun of the season at the AAA level, in the uniform of the Skeeters by Sugar Land.

The 24-year-old Toro had a long two-run point in Game 2 of a double-op against the Dodgers in Oklahoma City to help his team savor a 3-2 victory.

Injured early in the season, the Greenfield Park native has produced eight points in his last eight games. In 10 games since the start of the campaign, Toro has a batting average of .313 and, by walks of six walks, an excellent trail attendance rate of .436. He has also been struck out at bat only three times.
