The 21-year-old winger has been awarded a three-season contract. The designated shooting guard is next to Tim Uhlemann and Tim Köpple the third player in the squad of the new head coach Pete Strobl for the coming season.

»I am very happy that Kilian has made a long-term decision in favor of our program. He is a versatile player who can be used in several positions. He has a good drive to the basket and has the necessary aggressiveness and readiness for intensive forms of defense. He will take the next steps in his development with us, «says the managing director of sports, Sebastian Schmidt, characterizing the versatile Guard.

Binapfl has played a total of 32 games in the BBL so far. In the current season he came to 26 games in the first division and completed one encounter in the cup. His playing time was around seven minutes, during which the native Bavarian produced 2.2 points per game on average and 1.5 rebounds. Binapfl is looking forward to working with Coach Strobl and the Giessen fans.

Before taking office in the Rhineland, the 1.98 m tall winger went hunting for basketball for FC Bayern Basketball in the Pro B and for the NBBL of the reigning cup winners. In the 2018/19 season, the man from Neu-Gießen completed 19 games for the Bavarian farm team and received around 15 minutes of playing time.

But especially with two German championships in the U19 (NBBL) of the FCB as well as the title at the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the German U18 national team in 2018 and the bronze medal at the U20 European Championship in 2019, the talent caught the eye. During his last success in Israel, Binapfl shared the backcourt with Bjarne Kraushaar, a native of Giessen, among other things, so that several points of contact in Central Hesse have already arisen.
