At the age of 75 he died Xavi Xinxó i Padrós, former Secretary General of the Figueres Sports Union, Born in Anglesola in 1945, as a young man he moved to Sabadell with his family to follow his father’s professional activity. In the eighties it reached the ‘Alt Emporda, a region he never left again. He opened the store in the Empordà capital Empordà Sports with the Union goalkeeper Josep Maria Miret. Since then he has been linked to the Figueres club, where he has been general secretary and trusted person of the presidents of each stage. His knowledge of the regulations and guidelines of the Federation made him a regular resource for consultation with many other clubs in the county and beyond.
Xavi Xinxó had a characteristic voice that had made him a radio man in various social gatherings and programs. Affectionate and ironic, he left a great memory for the Figueres Sports Union when he folded. He was a widower of Maria mar zamorano and had two children. The farewell ceremony takes place this Tuesday, at 12 noon, at the funeral home of the Empordà-Àltima Funeral Home in Figueres. The club has expressed its condolences for the death “of an indispensable piece for the entity.”
