However, he urges fans to be conscientious and make sure that the Covid-19 certificate allows them to attend the games before purchasing tickets.

“For our part, we, as organizers, are preparing an additional solution for the control mechanism,” Buncis emphasized.

Tickets for the last games of the subgroups will cost 110 euros, for the quarter-finals 165 euros, for the semi-finals 220 euros, for the game for the third place 280 euros, but for the final – 340 euros.

René Fuselel, President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), noted that this year’s championship will also bring big losses and ticket revenues will cover only part of the cost.

Meanwhile, Kalvītis revealed that tickets have not become significantly more expensive, because the ticket price for subgroup matches was previously set at about 99 euros.

“A large part of the expenditure is invested by the IIHF, and the money will go to the IIHF to cover part of the costs. Of course, we, as organizers, will also cover a small part of our expenses from the income, ”said Kalvītis.
