Trae Young gets knocked out by … the mayor of New York!

The series between the Knicks and Hawks has taken an exciting turn since the scorching end of Game 1, which saw Trae Young humiliate the 15,000 fans at Madison Square Garden. The hype has continued to grow ever since, to the point that the mayor of New York got involved. And it does not go with the back of the spoon!

Let’s be clear: Trae Young is public enemy number 1 in New York right now. After silencing the hordes of “F * ck Trae Young” who came down from the spans of Madison Square Garden, the leader of the Hawks did not hesitate to move the knife in the wound, arrogant de facto an antagonist status in the Big Apple.

While waiting for a Game 2 which promises to be hot, it is downright the mayor of New York Bill De Blasio, cap of the Knicks screwed on the head, who suddenly launched into a trash-talking of Young. Be careful, it’s rather spicy:

I’m going to talk about something a little off topic for a minute. It’s about basketball, and I have a very important announcement to make. This is a message to Trae Young, on behalf of the people of New York City and all those who love basketball to be played properly: stop looking for fouls, Trae.

I’m going to quote Steve Nash, one of the best players and the best coaches, who said, I quote, “This is not basketball”. Trae, Trae… Your hawk (“hawk” in English, editor’s note) is not going to fly over New York City. Come on, play basketball properly, and see if you can win on a regular basis. I think the Knicks will teach you a lesson.

De Blasio is obviously referring to Trae Young’s talent for provoking unorthodox faults, in particular by “throwing himself” at opponents. To reduce the excellent performance of Ice Trae to his malice is however very dishonest as the leader of the Hawks signed the performance of a great during Game 1, and this at all levels.

At ease in this costume of “villain”, we imagine that the former Oklahoma is eager to do battle in Game 2. The same insulting chants will rain, the defense of the Knicks will be tightened, and we will have to be too strong to repeat such a performance. In any case, we can’t wait to be there.

The Trae Young affair goes far, since even the Mayor has decided to put his two cents in. Give us a series in 7 games, we only ask that!
