The Playoffs – After suspensions in the NFL, Josh Gordon will play Fan Controlled Football

Wide receiver Josh Gordon is returning to the field to play in the alternate Fan Controlled Football league. Gordon joins ex-NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel at the Zappers. The information was released on Saturday (27), by reporter Adam Schefter, of ESPN American, being confirmed by the owner of Zappers, Bob Menery.

Josh Gordon has been out of the NFL since 2020 after being suspended for doping. The WR has completed a series of suspensions and will become an unrestricted free agent on March 17.

Fan Controlled Football (FCF) was created in 2017 under the nickname Project Franchise – the organizers only adopted the current name from 2020. The league has several rules of its own, such as a reduced 50-yard field and one-minute warning , but the most significant difference is found outside the lawn. Offensive plays are chosen by popular live voting via the Twitch platform or the organization’s app.

Gordon stood out in the NFL in 2013, when he led the league with 1,646 receiving yards, despite losing two games. However, after falling for the doping test due to the use of illegal substances, the player started a series of suspensions that took him out of the field. There were only 63 games in nine years.

In 2019, the 29-year-old recorded 27 receptions for 426 yards and a touchdown in 11 matches split between the Seahawks and New England Patriots.
