Sergio Ibáñez returns without a medal from the IBSA Judo Grand Prix of Baku but closer to the Paralympic classification

The Aragonese judoka Sergio Ibáñez (-66kg, Judo Club Zaragoza), together with Raúl Clemente (Club Judo Binefar) as coach and current sports director of the FAJYDA and director of the Aragonese Judo Technification Program (PTD), return from the IBSA Judo Grand Baku Prix 2021 held on May 25 and 26 in Azerbaijan, as members of the Spanish Paralympic Judo team, without a medal but one step closer to the Paralympic classification.

In three weeks the last qualifying round for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be held at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Warwick 2021 in England, where everything will be decided and we will know if for the first time an Aragonese judoka will attend a Judo Paralympic Games.

Currently the judoka Sergio Ibáñez trains at the High Performance Center (CAR) in Madrid with a scholarship from the Higher Sports Council, after his great career and sports evolution within the qualified technification program of the Aragon government (PTD).
