Selfies under the tent roof – sport

When the game and season finally came to an end on Saturday shortly after three, there was an unusual rapprochement: the players from Türkgücü Munich ran to their most loyal fans. After all, 250 spectators were finally allowed into the huge concrete bowl of the Olympic Stadium. And so Sercan Sararer eagerly took selfies under the tent roof and had the followers pass him one smartphone after the other. Goalkeeper René Vollath and Ünal Tosun brought training clothes and jerseys to the people.

“It’s a different atmosphere than in a completely empty stadium,” said left-back Kilian Jakob after the 1-1 (0-0) win against Viktoria Köln. He managed the last goal of this first third division season in Munich, a curious as well as beautiful: First Lucas Röser hit the post, then Cologne’s Maximilian Rossmann scratched a Sararer shot off the line, before Jakob in the third attempt with full force to 1-0 graduated (54th). The home crowd was only able to look forward to the lead for nine minutes, then the Rhinelander came to equalize, because Marcel Risse, who had been substituted three minutes earlier, scored a very similar goal: Kevin Holzweiler hit the bar with a remarkable praise, then Albert Bunjaku was blocked, Cracks hit the ball from 18 meters into the mesh (63.).

Especially in the second run it was a lively game after Türkgücü had disappointed in the first run, which is what managing director Max Kothny said Magenta Sports said clearly at half-time: “As we show today, not everyone deserves to play third division for Türkgücü next season.” The next day, Kothny relativized his harsh judgment against the SZ in view of the increase in the second round, but none of the wobbly candidates in the squad had done advertising in the last five winless games of this season. Ultimately, Türkgücü crossed the finish line in 13th place in the table, six points ahead of the relegation places.

What will happen to interim coach Pummer? The crux of the matter is his lack of a football instructor license

According to Kothny, the first personnel decisions will be made this week. As can be heard from the club environment, supplementary players such as goalkeeper Maximilian Engl, Michael Zant, Furkan Kircicek, Mounir Bouziane, Benedikt Kirsch or Alexander Laukart should not hope for a contract extension. At Yi-Young Park (St. Pauli) and Atakan Akkaynak (Rizespor) the loan agreements are running out. In contrast, substitute keeper Franco Flückinger will stay for another season. While goalkeeping coach Michael Hofmann is said to have already extended, the future of assistant and interim coach Andreas Pummer is still open. The problem is still that the former trainer of FC Unterföhring does not have a football instructor license and therefore – as practiced twice this season – is only allowed to slip into the executive role for 15 days. “We will sit down this week and look for a solution,” announced Kothny.

In any case, Pummer drew a moderate conclusion after the game: “We cut everything out with a reduced squad and achieved a conciliatory conclusion.” It was not easy to “motivate and reach the team” in the past few weeks, after they had not been relegated. His balance of this first third division season: “When you’re new to a league, not every step can be right. We have to improve in all areas, from the external image to our performance on the pitch.”

Managing Director Kothny is annoyed about the BFV’s cup planning: “Not thought far enough”

While most Bavarian clubs can now realign themselves for the coming season, Türkgücü has to plan in two directions, because it is still about qualifying for the first round of the DFB Cup. Not until June 22nd will the Munich team contest their quarter-finals in the Bavarian Toto Cup at the Lower Franconian Bayern league club Abtswind. For Kothny a “highly unfortunate” plan by the Bavarian Football Association. “New players will not come in until July 1st, those who leave us will be gone by June 22nd. You have to see that you get the full squad at all,” explained Kothny. “This termination did not help anyone, not even the amateurs, because the association did not think far enough.”

Meanwhile, the club is setting the course for the coming season. Kothny revealed at the weekend that everything will be done to make the Olympic Stadium into the main home stadium in the new season, especially since new turf heating will be installed in the next few weeks and you will no longer have to deal with the stressed run in the Grünwalder Stadium in winter other clubs. “We have established ourselves here, this extraordinary stadium gives us a certain sense of home.”
