The coronavirus crisis has, once again, not spared Roland-Garros. If the overall amount of distributed earnings remains unchanged and is maintained around 34.67 million euros (as in the 2020 edition), the “more solidarity” distribution has been maintained for this 2021 vintage.
On the same model as Tennis Australia at the Australian Open, the tournament organizers reaffirmed their support and solidarity with the less “privileged” players on the circuit. Players eliminated in the 1st and 2nd round will thus see their prize money maintained at the same rank as last year, while those eliminated from the 3rd round will see their endowment drop. This principle, desired by the FFT, applies to all tables, both single and double.
