Olemps. The young judokas have finally found their dojo

The least we can say is that the new dojo, open at the start of September, has been little used this season. So it was with real pleasure that the children had the joy, Wednesday afternoon, to taste their favorite sport again.

At 5 p.m., while the children put on their clothes and passed their hands and feet with hydroalcoholic gel, Amilcar Jacinto, their teacher, disinfect the tatami mats before starting the class, taking stock of what they have learned and recalling everything. which has been forgotten since January.

A strange year which did not allow the children to really face the discipline. A few lessons did take place outside but the weather and the holidays did not allow us to organize many. Many uncertainties still for the end of the season: “We are going to survey the families to see if it is possible to extend a little but that may be difficult because people want to move and, when they work, it is often the grandparents who receive the children” wonders Merixell Olivé-Poch, the president of the Olempian club.

A belt discount, a year-end pot? “Again, difficult to commit for the moment despite the desire to end in a friendly way”.

Judo has lost half of its workforce this season; there are only 17 members left. “For them, we will be offering registration at only 20 € at the start of the school year; for those who do not come back, we will reimburse the 2021 membership fee.”

But we can bet that in September the workforce will return to what they were before the pandemic.
