Maria Camila Osorio He is getting closer to meeting a new goal: qualifying for the main draw of a Grand Slam for the first time. The Colombian tennis player took a step further after defeating the Dutch on Wednesday, May 26 Richèl Hogenkamp with partials 6-4 and 6-0 in 57 minutes of the game to reach the third round of the qualifier of Roland Garros, in France.

In the last instance of the so-called ‘qualy’, Osorio Serrano will face the Romanian Monica Niculescu, number 175 of the WTA ranking. The meeting is scheduled for next Thursday, May 27 at 7:00 in the morning approximately (Colombian time).

For this commitment, María Camila took to the court with a pair of bandages on her thighs, which generated uncertainty regarding his physical condition. Already in the development, a very even meeting was planned: with the Colombian without showing his offensive proposal in the shots and with Hogenkamp leaving behind several opportunities to make a difference in the first set.

Hogenkamp looked physically tired and could barely win four points with her service game and just 10 in the whole set.

Let’s remember that this year the best Colombian racket in the country also reached the third round of the qualifier in the past.
