Guatemalan judo athletes lead competition in Ecuador

Judo athletes, José Ramos and Jacqueline Solís, once again praised Guatemala, placing first and second, respectively, in a tournament held in Ecuador this Saturday.

IN CONTEXT: Guatemala wins gold and bronze at Pan American Judo Open

The Guatemalan Olympic Committee (COG) announced that José Ramos and Jacqueline Solís won Gold and Silver medals in the 2021 Guayaquil Pan American Open competitions, in Ecuador.

The Committee highlighted the success of the participation of both athletes. “Congratulations on your determination and passion for Guatemala,” they indicated.

According to the COG, the event in which the athletes participated this weekend, adds points for the ranking heading to the Tokyo Olympics.

Reaping successes

On April 17, the two athletes stood out at the Pan American Open that took place in Guadalajara, Mexico, where Ramos won Gold in the -60 kilogram category, while Jacqueline Solís was left with the Bronze, in the -48 kilograms.
