FC Bayern: loan from Alexander Nübel is emerging – sport

Alexander Nübel was happy about his first German championship. He lifted the bowl in the circle of cheering colleagues and later even drank a beer in the cabin, documented on his Instagram channel. But if he has his way, he shouldn’t experience this ceremony for the time being, to which you can get used to as a footballer at FC Bayern.

It is not uncommon for the German record champions to be dominated by possible transfers in the near or more distant future in the week after the end of the season, and so it is this time too. One topic: According to media reports, wing attacker Kingsley Coman has commissioned Pini Zahavi, the infamous advisor Uli Hoeneß once called a “greedy piranha”, with his next contract negotiations. Another topic: possible new reinforcements for the breadth of the squad, because some of the newcomers were rather not reinforcements in the previous transfer summer. Maybe one or the other will also go.

And then there is of course this ongoing topic: the present and future of Nübel, 24, who a year ago as one of the best young German goalkeepers moved to Munich for free from FC Schalke 04 – and then hardly played: only once in the league, once in the cup and twice in the Champions League. According to his wish, that should change as soon as possible. But it’s not that easy.

Nübels advisor emphasizes that the talks with FC Bayern are very good

The former U21 national goalkeeper, which has been a more or less open secret for months, is said to have been contractually promised more missions when he moved to Munich than ultimately were. Unsurprisingly, more stakes for Nübel stood in the way of constant world-class performances by world goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, as well as the equally unsurprising reluctance of coach Hansi Flick and Neuer to have the world’s best goalkeeper on the bench, even in the supposedly unimportant ones Play. And will that change a lot under Flick’s successor Julian Nagelsmann? In any case, it would be surprising if he advised Neuer, 35, to take more breaks in his initial interview. The regular goalkeeper’s contract runs for another two years.

That is why Nübels advisor Stefan Backs brought up the obvious possibility of a loan months ago. Bavaria’s upcoming CEO, former national goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, has dismissed this possibility several times: Nübel remains Bavaria’s number two. This is just as obvious: on a corona transfer market that continues to warn people to be thrifty, the club would otherwise have to acquire a new keeper who, on the one hand, sits on the bench without complaint, but on the other hand is good enough to be able to step in if newcomer should injure himself – a well-known dilemma. A great talent like Nübel is basically the ideal cast, especially since he did not become noticeable with listlessness in training. On the other hand, at FC Bayern, of course, they also know that Nübel doesn’t necessarily get better by sitting on the bench. And so a solution that is satisfactory for everyone cannot be ruled out.

In any case, Nübel consultant Backs now emphasizes that the talks with FC Bayern are very good, in which both parties basically want the same thing. It is important to clarify what the alternative for the club looks like – and where Nübel can best develop, at best during a two-year loan. At least OSC Lille and AS Monaco should be interested. And in the more distant future, that would be the ideal scenario, Nübel would often hold the championship trophy in the air in Munich. It’s best to be a little sweaty.
