After a small lull, the Mavs relapsed severely by conceding their 7th defeat in 8 games. Their executioners? Warriors yet arch-diminished, who made them see all the colors in a slap inflicted without pity (147-116). The emergency is rearing its head in Texas.
A shipwreck. That’s the word to describe the Mavericks’ 2nd half against the Warriors, and more generally their totally distressing defensive performance throughout the evening. Yet neck and neck at half-time in an extremely offensive match (76-74), Luka Doncic and his teammates sank in the second act, and severely.
Disorderly in attack, scandalous in defense, Rick Carlisle’s men bowed under the blows of Warriors in place and concentrated, whose game of passes and cuts made the Texans go crazy.
In a barrage of assists and ball movement, Kelly Oubre pulled out of the game by far leaving her best performance of the season. In total fire, Tsunami Papi even hit his career record, scoring a trifle of 40 points (14/21 in the shoot) including 7 long distance splashs!

Draymond GreenHe was in the oven, in the mill … and especially in caviar, with no less than 15 assists to accompany his 11 points and 6 rebounds! A real demonstration all the more comical as the Warriors were decimated on paper.
With the absences of James Wiseman, Eric Paschall, Kevon Looney, Marquese Chriss and others, Golden State presented itself in Texas with only 9 active players, none of whom exceeded 6’7 ”, or 2m01! Juan Toscano-Anderson started alongside Curry, Green, Oubre and Wiggins in this ultra small-ball 5, and Mychal Mulder, Bradley Wanamaker, Damion Lee and Kent Bazemore made up the bench.
However, Dallas has never managed to unseat this brave squad, and even more worrying, Kristaps Porzingis did not take advantage of his immense size advantage of more than 20 centimeters to dominate. Most of the time, the Latvian was content to send 3-point missiles (admittedly a good percentage), while being cataclysmic in defense.
The cold shower is total for the Mavs, ridiculed by Warriors understaffed and in deficit size. Rick Carlisle will have to find the solutions, and very quickly, to get Dallas out of this pitiful 13th place in the West.
