Mier and Vuletich give DIM de Bolillo an agonizing victory in the BetPLay League

Bucaramanga and Medellín met at Alfonso López for the third day of the BetPlay League. Bolillo Gómez’s team were looking for their second victory in the championship and reached the final of the Cup after qualifying for the week, while the locals hoped to return to victory after a defeat on the second date.

The first part was intense, but shallow for both teams. The ball was played in the two areas and control and possession was more for the locals, who did not make a difference either. The DIM, which had Reina from the beginning, tried to find spaces and generate football with the midfielder, but did not create a real danger option in Chaverra’s goal.

At times, both locals and visitors shared control of the ball. When Bucaramanga had it, he knew how to confuse DIM, but Meléndez and Montoya did not appear, who could give the opening on the sides and clarity in the midfield. When the DIM had it, it generated quiet ball plays and some football with Mier and Reina, but it was missing in the final play.

Second half: Vuletich and Mier changed the game for DIM

In the second stage, the match remained even. Few options, little depth and little surprise from Bucaramanga and DIM. The visitors had the ball, but failed to deliver and the locals recovered the ball, but did not have the clarity to reach the rival goal. It was a time with friction, many fouls away from the areas, mistakes and few ideas to unbalance the scoreboard.

After the 60th minute, DIM was more than Bucaramanga, however, that slight superiority could not be translated into goals. Those led by Bolillo kept their game in the rival area, Matías Mier, on the sides, joined much more with Reina and Castro, but there was not a single occasion in which they arrived at risk to the Chaverra arch.

This arrived until minute 77 with the entrance to the party of Vuletich who entered by Castro. The forward controlled the ball in the area and saw James Sánchez arrive without a mark who, only against Chaverra, could not beat the local goalkeeper who saved his team with a great save.

The entry of Vuletich changed the whole game. In two plays he gave his team the imbalance that it had not encountered in more than 80 minutes. The Argentine took the entire brand, he saw Mier in the area well located, he gave the ball and he lowered it and with a strong left leg shot put his team to win.

With this result, Bucaramanga is sixth with four points and Medellín, ninth with the same units. On the fourth date, the DIM will receive Millionaires and the Bucaramanga will visit América de Cali.
