INDOSPORT.COM – One of the senior Juventus defenders, Giorgio Chiellini, admits he made a mistake when he refused an offer that came from Inter Milan several seasons ago.
Giorgio Chiellini himself is currently known as one of the most successful defenders in Italy. Noted, he managed to win a series of individual titles and awards in Serie A.
Call it nine Serie A trophies, four Coppa Italia titles and five Supercoppa Italiana titles he successfully won with Juventus throughout 2005 until now.
Even though he was successful with Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini’s early career began by strengthening the Livorno team who at that time was serving in Serie C.
Even though he plays in the third caste of the Italian League, Giorgio Chiellini’s talent has already been smelled by many big Serie A teams even to the Premier League.

Giorgio Chiellini said that the Gunners camp had called and offered him a move to London 20 years ago or just when Chiellini was 16 years old.
Not long after, Inter Milan also came with the intention of recruiting him. But all these offers were rejected by Chiellini, because he did not want to betray Livorno.
He also admitted that refusing two offers from European giants like Inter Milan and Arsenal at that time was quite a stupid decision. Even Giorgio Chiellini still feels sorry to this day.
“They called me and told me that I had to sign a contract with Inter. I refuse. I was in my fourth year of middle school and didn’t want to go anywhere, “said Chiellini.
“Come to think of it, I was stupid for refusing the offer. Aged 16 years and playing in Serie C, I got a big offer. I feel not ready. If I accept it, it will give the impression of betraying Livorno,” said Chiellini.
Giorgio Chiellini finally decided to stay at Livorno until the 2003-2004 season. In the 2004-2005 season, Chiellini moved to Fiorentina. A year later, the player joined Juventus and has remained until now.
