Golla and Kuzmanovski tested positive for Corona

IIn the handball Bundesliga, two professionals tested positive for the corona virus after the World Cup in Egypt. After Johannes Golla from SG Flensburg-Handewitt, Filip Kuzmanovski from TSV Hannover-Burgdorf also tested positive after his return. The national team of North Macedonia had gone into quarantine at home and had previously had no contact with his teammates in Hanover, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday. The test results of all other World Cup participants of the “Recken” were negative after their arrival in Hanover. The worries in the Bundesliga have become even greater.

A few days after returning from Cairo, Flensburg’s Golla had tested positive for the virus – and no one knows for sure where the 23-year-old was infected. After the DHB selection landed in Cologne on Tuesday evening, Golla complained, according to his club, of “slight cold symptoms” on Thursday. He did not take part in the joint training afterwards, the PCR test carried out on Friday ultimately turned out positive. Golla is now in quarantine at home for two weeks and will be absent from the German runner-up in the Champions League match at HC Meshkov Brest in Belarus on Thursday.

The corona tests of all other German national players have so far been negative. The German Handball Federation (DHB) announced after Golla’s positive test that the entire World Cup delegation had been informed of the case and was in close contact with the players and their clubs.
