The Municipal Sports Council will choose this Wednesday the new name
CIEMPOZUELOS / FEBRUARY 1, 2021 / The Municipal Sports Council of the Ciempozuelo City Councils meets this Wednesday, February 3 to discuss, among other issues, the name that the Municipal Sports Center will bear from now on.
The members of the council will have to choose between the three names proposed by the Department of Sports: Teresa Perales, Paralympic swimmer; Carolina Marín, Badminton player; and the former Spanish soccer coach Vicente del Bosque.
The initiative will be expanded in the future to also name the track of the Sports Hall and to Municipal Football Stadium, the Ciempozuelos City Council reported this Monday.
The Councilor for Sports Javier Morgado has highlighted the municipal government’s commitment to “participation as the backbone of sports policies.”
In this sense, the members of the Sports Council will work until February 19 on a regulation of use of sports facilities.
PP: names of local athletes
For his part, PP from Ciempozuelos has pointed out that the municipality has “enough neighbors who refer to sports” to name the Municipal Sports Center, such as Days of the Sea (Gold medal in the Police and Fire Fighters Olympics), Paco Martin (former professional basketball player), Sara morales (triathlete), Alexandra Wruszak (athlete) o Juan Carlos Quintana placeholder image (para-badminton player).
