Seefeld Triple, in which distances from individual races are transmitted, culminated in a race with a run of 15 kilometers. Twenty-three-year-old Riiber managed the unusually long track very tactically. At the start he was 38 seconds ahead of the Japanese Akita Watab and another 20 seconds ahead of the Finn Ilkka Herola, but after about two thirds of the race he let both of them finish and used the saved forces in the start a few tens of meters before the finish.

The best teammate of the last two seasons, who is heading for the third crystal globe in a row, defeated Herol by 1.3 seconds and Watabe by 3.2 seconds. After the seventh victory of the season and the 34th in his career, Riiber leads the World Championship standings ahead of the German Vinzenz Geiger by almost 400 points.

Riiber also won the second team race in Seefeld, the Czechs did not score
