All Star Game on March 7 in Atlanta, agreement reached with NBPA. And Kevin Durant is more voted than LeBron James – OA Sport

In the end, the All Star Game, albeit on a completely unusual date than usual (March 7), is safe. Despite everything, the event that brings together the best players of the NBA will take place: it will be held in Atlanta.

The agreement in this sense, as reported Shams Charania of The Athletic, was joined between the league and the players association, the NBPA. The final details are being filed, while it is not yet clear whether the dunk and three-point shooting competitions, historical elements of the All Star Weekend, will be held.

The event, this year, should have been held in Indianapolis, but the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic meant that the event, in Indiana, was moved forward three years, and therefore postponed to 2024, to do not frustrate the efforts made by the city to bring it.

Meanwhile, the rankings have been released after the initial days of voting to decide who will be part of the star match. Kevin Durant leads the Eastern Conference with 2,302,705 votes, a figure even better than LeBron James in the Western Conference (2,288,676). The only other over two million is Steph Curry (2,113,178). In terms of absolute preferences, regardless of the Conferences, the current fourth is Giannis Antetokounmpo (1,752,185) ahead of Joel Embiid (1.584.058).
