The Emirates FA Cup
Liverpool will not win the FA Cup this year either. The champion was killed in the fourth round against Manchester United after a match with 5 great goals. Divock Origi was allowed to come in in the final phase, but could not change the 3-2 score.
Exactly a week ago, the league game between Liverpool and United disappointed, but that could not be said of the confrontation in the FA Cup. That the match had to have a winner was probably not surprising. In this corona season, the FA Cup fourth round was a knockout phase.
The game was captivating from start to finish, with pace, intensity, varying winning odds and five goals. With the first two goals, the assist was actually even better than the finish.

Fernandes is the man at United (for the umpteenth time)
Right after half time, United got what it deserved based on the first half. Liverpool had more possession, but the chances were for United. Rashford mercilessly punished a foul by young central defender Williams in minute 49.
Liverpool didn’t have an immediate response to the 2-1 against a stiffly defensive United, but old warrior Milner forced it for the visitors. He showed a good run for Salah and he made his second: 2-2.
After the equalizing goal, Liverpool took over from United, but the contribution of joker Fernandes to United had more effect than the contribution of Mané to Liverpool. The Portuguese kicked a princely free kick in the far corner and gave United the victory.
